LIMAY, Bataan – The Philippine Coast Guard in its Bataan station on Monday announced that three motor tankers with 54 crews were stranded at the Lamao Anchorage Area in barangay Lamao, Limay, Bataan due to super typhoon Juan.

Chief Petty Officer Tomas Languido, Bataan Station CG deputy commander, named the three motor tankers as MT Matikas with 22 crews, MT Aparri Express, 14 crews; and MT Mahogany with 18 crews.

MT Matikas, loaded with industrial fuel oil, and MT Mahogany with diesel fuel were both bound for La Union, while MT Aparri Express with diesel fuel is for Aparri, Cagayan.

Languido said that Bataan was placed under Storm Signal No. 1. He said they decided not to permit the three tankers not to sail on Sunday afternoon to avoid the three boats from being hit by the strong typhoon at sea.

Coast Guard-Bataan has also advised all fishermen in coastal barangays not go out of the sea. Those who already went out fishing were ordered to go back.
