  • First aircraft program to install seats manufactured in the Philippines
Philippine Airlines’ Airbus A321ceo planes – the flag carrier’s regional workhorse across ASEAN, Greater China, Japan, South Korea, and Guam – have received comprehensive cabin enhancements to elevate the passenger experience and boost operational efficiency.
PAL has accepted its first of 18 refurbished A321ceos – with registry number RP-C9905 – after a retrofitting program at the Lufthansa Technik Philippines’ (LTP) facility in Manila.
The refurbished cabin is designed to accommodate 194 passengers in a dual-class layout with 12 Business Class, and 182 Economy Class seats.
The Business Class section has a 2-2 layout that provides more space and privacy, enhancing overall comfort.  Each seat will have an in-seat power supply through power sockets and a USB-A Port outlet, along with other amenities, including multiple stowage options and a mini cocktail table. Inflight entertainment can be enjoyed through a 13.3” embedded screen for a more immersive and enjoyable viewing experience.
The Economy Class section has a 3-3 layout, with 10.1” IFE screen on each seat, offering movies, music and more to keep passengers entertained throughout their journey.  Each seat comes with a USB-A Port outlet, enabling passengers to conveniently charge their devices throughout the flight.
PAL has selected the highly popular Collins Pinnacle seats for economy class, manufactured at the Collins factory in Batangas by Filipino workers leading the production of these aircraft seats.
PAL’s Vice President for Marketing Alvin Miranda said, “This cabin retrofit program reflects PAL’s vision of world-class excellence and heartfelt care. At the core of this undertaking is the dedicated craftsmanship showcased by Filipino workers in the manufacture of aircraft seats and the reconfiguration of the cabin in the Philippines.”
The retrofit project is the first aircraft program done by any local airline utilizing Filipino skilled workers for seat production and installation, and various aspects of cabin upgrading.
The reconfigured A321ceos will be utilized on flights to Tokyo (Haneda and Narita), Osaka, Jakarta, Bali and Guam this year, and to other key Asian destinations in the PAL network by next year. The program, which runs from 2025 to 2027, covers all 18 A321ceo aircraft of Philippine Airlines.
