CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A total of 3,081 college students from different schools of Pampanga stand to benefit from the Tulong Dunong Program of the Commission on Higher Education in cooperation with the provincial government.
CHED Region 3 director Lora Yusi on Sept. 17 presented a ceremonial cheque for ₱23,107,500 to officials of beneficiary schools and the provincial government represented by Vice Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda and members of the provincial board.
The amount covers an allotment of P7,500 to each student beneficiary from Holy Cross College, Our Lady of Fatima University-Pampanga, Guagua National College, Jose Feliciano College, University of the Assumption, Far Eastern University- Pampanga, Santa Rita College, Mary the Queen College, and Angeles City College.
After the ceremonial turnover, the CHED officials and school administrators met with Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda for a discussion on the current status of college students, as well as the challenges and opportunities that Kapampangan youth face in their journey to higher education.
Both the provincial government and CHED express shared commitment to ensure more Kapampangan students will have the opportunity to gain college education, notwithstanding economic hardships, strong in the belief that every financial aid opens a greater future for the Kapampangan youth.
