MANILA – The Department of Migrant Workers on Friday, Sept. 12, announced it has ordered the immediate recall of Labor Attaché Macy Monique Maglanque, currently stationed in Los Angeles, to face an official investigation.

“We have issued a recall order for Labor Attaché Maglanque so that she may return home and personally face the investigation. No penalty has been imposed yet, but it is important that [Maglanque] herself should respond to the questions—not only from the DMW but also from other necessary investigations,” said DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac in a video posted on the agency’s Facebook page.

“It is our duty to follow due process and comply with the directive of our President [Ferdinand Marcos Jr.] to hold accountable any official against whom there are allegations of misconduct or corruption,” noted Cacdac.

Maglanque was named in a privilege speech by Senate Blue Ribbon Committee chair Senator Panfilo Lacson as the president of MBB Global Properties, along with Sunshine Bernardo, corporate secretary; and Fatima Gay B. (Bonoan) Dela Cruz, treasurer whom the senator said are children of Mayor Rene Maglanque, former Department of Public Works and Highways Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo, and former Secretary Manuel Bonoan.

“MBB stands for Maglanque, Bernardo, and Bonoan… I’ll let you connect the dots,” said Lacson then.

On Sept. 10, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon requested the Department of Justice to issue an immigration lookout bulletin order against Bonoan, Maglanque, and the named MBB Global corporate executives. Punto News Team/FB Photos
