CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Nueva Ecija highlighted the services of government agencies and financial institutions during the 31st National Tech-Voc Day.
TESDA Provincial Director Alvin Yturralde said the World Café of Opportunities (WCO) and National Enrollment Day serve as a bridge to connect learners, graduates, and job seekers with support programs and employment partners.
“One is the World Café of Opportunities or as we call it WCO and the National Enrollment Day or NED, both of which stand as testaments to our continued mission of empowering lives through technical education and skills development,” he furthered.
“Our World Café of Opportunities serves as a venue where companies and job seekers meet, providing a platform where aspirations turn into realities and dreams are given a chance—especially for TESDA graduates and skilled Novo Ecijanos,” the official pressed.
TESDA Nueva Ecija Supervising TESD Specialist Racquel Baluyot explained that the WCO brings together job seekers, TESDA graduates, technical-vocational institutions, industry partners, and government agencies in one collaborative space.
Meanwhile, Provincial Public Employment Service Office Manager Luisa Pangilinan called on job seekers and graduates to manage their expectations by not demanding high positions immediately upon entering the workforce.
“To our job seekers, my reminder is not to expect a high position right away. What I want to emphasize is that there are many opportunities available today, so choose the jobs where you are qualified or where your interests lie, and be sure to prepare your credentials or résumés,” Pangilinan emphasized.
She appealed to employers and business establishments to be considerate with applicants, emphasizing that the main goal of the activity is to provide Hired on the Spot opportunities and help job seekers secure employment immediately.
Other partner agencies also shared their programs and services during the event.
Social Security System Branch Head Elizabeth Gabon assured participants of access to benefits including sickness, maternity, disability, unemployment, and retirement pensions.
Pag-IBIG Fund Marketing Division Supervisor Gladys Ann Rivera said their booth assisted graduates in securing Pag-IBIG numbers, which are required for employment and future housing programs.
LandBank Cabanatuan Branch Manager Imelda Eusebio introduced the Piso Plus account, a savings product with zero initial deposit and no maintaining balance designed for scholars and first-time job seekers.
Eusebio added that interested applicants can conveniently open an account using their mobile phones with internet access by downloading the LandBank Mobile Banking App, making banking more accessible to job seekers.
PhilHealth Chief Social Insurance Officer Marvy Robledo presented the YAKAP program which provides free consultations, laboratory services, and essential medicines for members.
Philippine Statistics Authority Supervising Statistical Specialist Girlie De Guzman invited job seekers to avail of the national ID registration, temporary ID issuance, and demographic updates.
Yturralde emphasized that these initiatives reflect TESDA’s commitment to equip Novo Ecijanos with skills, opportunities, and access to government support for a more inclusive workforce. (CLJD/MCAL, PIA Region 3-Nueva Ecija GIP)
