Backed by Aboitiz InfraCapital and delaware Philippines, this digital transformation sets the stage for smarter airport operations in Northern Mindanao
Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental – Aboitiz InfraCapital Laguindingan Airport Corporation (ALAC), in partnership with delaware Philippines, a global company that delivers advanced ICT solutions and an SAP Partner in the country, proudly announces the successful go-live of SAP S/4HANA Cloud at Laguindingan International Airport (LIA). This transformative milestone, achieved in an impressive three-and-a-half-month timeframe, marks a new era for LIA, significantly boosting operational efficiency and empowering data-driven decision-making.
Building on the successful transformation of Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), LIA is now Aboitiz Infra Capital’s (AIC’s) second regional airport to benefit from extensive digital modernization, powered by SAP Business Suite. This project signifies a comprehensive digital overhaul, equipping LIA with advanced enterprise resource planning (ERP) capabilities. The implementation is pivotal to AIC’s commitment to optimizing business operations and enhancing the overall efficiency and agility of LIA—the Philippines’ sixth busiest airport and a vital hub for Northern Mindanao—occurring shortly after AIC assumed operational and modernization responsibilities.
Supported by RISE with SAP, a journey that helps on-premises SAP ERP customers tailor their transformation to modernize their business with SAP Business Suite, the implementation of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition introduces access to a fully automated and integrated suite of enterprise applications to enhance LIA’s operations—covering critical areas such as finance, procurement, supply chain management, airport-space leasing, and comprehensive facility and asset management. This holistic approach ensures streamlined processes, improved financial visibility, and a solid foundation for future growth and service excellence.
For Aboitiz InfraCapital President & CEO Cosette V. Canilao, implementing SAP S/4HANA Cloud sets the tone for how LIA will operate moving forward—more agile, more accountable, and more aligned with international best practices.
“This cloud ERP system empowers our teams with real-time data, faster turnaround times, and streamlined processes, ensuring we are fully equipped to serve passengers better, and scale as the region continues to grow,” said Calinao.
Achieving this comprehensive system implementation for LIA in just three-and-a-half-month showcases the dedication, agility, and hard work of ALAC’s core teams—including Finance, Procurement, Operations, and IT. This was made possible with the invaluable support and strategic guidance from AIC’s IT and Digital Group, Finance, Procurement, and other key domain leads. The project was executed with critical contributions from ALAC’s internal teams and a strong, synergistic collaboration with delaware Philippines and SAP.
“This remarkable three-and-a-half-month deployment was made possible through our standardized SAP S/4HANA Cloud roll-out approach, aligned to RISE with SAP Methodology, which leverages a Best Practice Airport System Template. This template is deployed across our other subsidiaries, enabling faster integration. Driven by the collaborative efforts of AIC’s Digital Transformation team and our partners at delaware Philippines, this strategy allows for accelerated implementations while maintaining AIC’s rigorous technology and process standards across all our airport operations,” said Raymund Ramos, Vice President and AIC Head of IT and Digital. Ramos also shared the digital transformation journey of AIC at SAP’s flagship event SAP NOW AI Tour Southeast Asia.
Partner and Managing Director at delaware Philippines Rosette Carrao, shared her enthusiasm stating, “Our continued partnership with AIC in their ambitious digital transformation journey across their businesses is a source of immense pride for delaware Philippines. The rapid and successful SAP S/4HANA Cloud implementation at LIA is another powerful testament to our shared commitment to leveraging technology to build future-ready infrastructure and elevate operational standards in the Philippines. It also demonstrates delaware’s expertise and proven track record in managing RISE with SAP implementations as a RISE with SAP Validated Partner.”
Simone Pigason, Senior Vice President for Customer Success at delaware Philippines, could not agree more. She said that, “With the Laguindingan project, delaware has now successfully implemented SAP S/4HANA Cloud in three international airports across the Philippines. This milestone reflects our commitment to elevating the country’s airport industry through digital transformation, empowering operators with greater efficiency, real-time insights, and the agility to deliver world-class airport experiences.”
This significant achievement is part of AIC’s broader 5-Year Transformation Program and marks the 10th company under their subsidiary to be digitally transformed through SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP cloud ERP applications in just two and a half years. It underscores AIC’s unwavering commitment to leveraging technology to drive business excellence, operational efficiency, and security across critical infrastructure in the Philippines.
As AIC looks ahead, this digital transformation serves as a cornerstone for LIA’s future growth, modernization, and delivery of an exceptional Filipino brand of hospitality and service.
