CLARK FREEPORT — Reports that the Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) removed a Philippine ship from Ayungin Shoal might be another fake news.
This is the response of Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro in a media interview early Aug. 2 during his visitation of the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief mission for the affected families in the recent flooding.
Teodoro said he has not yet received information on the report of the South China Morning Post that the China Coast Guard towed a Philippine ship after tense maritime clash.
He said, even the AFP chief of staff has not yet received any report about the matter.
According to Teodoro, he has not yet watched the video that is circulating on social media and said that it might be another fake news. He said they will first check the said video to see if it is true or not before they make a plan.
Teodoro also said that China criticized him again for saying that China has always claimed indisputable sovereignty and jurisdiction over all waters, islets and shoals within China’s claimed nine dash line are all lies.
He said he is just repeating what China is saying and if it is a lie, then China is the one who is not telling the truth and not him.
