BALANGA CITY (PIA) — A newly completed road rehabilitation project in Bataan underscores the Marcos administration’s continued push for infrastructure development aimed at ensuring public safety and convenience.

In his 4th State of the Nation Address, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the Build Better More Program, stressing that infrastructure efforts are focused on improving the lives of Filipinos.

“Sa Build Better More, higit ang kapakanan at kaligtasan ng mamamayan ang napakamahalaga,” the President said.

He also assured the public that the administration’s large-scale infrastructure initiatives will continue across the country.

“Ang mga naglalakihang proyekto ay nakalatag sa buong kapuluan. Mga daan, tulay, tren, paliparan, pantalan, patubig, at murang pabahay. Ilan dito, matatapos ngayong administrasyon na ito. Ang iba naman, makukumpleto pa at mararamdaman ang dalang ginhawa pagkatapos pa ng aking termino,” he added.

In support of the national government’s infrastructure priorities, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a P61.27-million road reblocking project along Jose Abad Santos Avenue (JASA) in Dinalupihan.

The project involved the rehabilitation of a 1.1-kilometer, 14-meter-wide, four-lane stretch from Barangay San Ramon to Barangay Luakan, significantly improving travel conditions in the area.

DPWH Bataan 3rd District Engineer Maribel Navarro said the project addressed long-standing road issues such as potholes, traffic congestion, and vehicle wear and tear.

“The newly improved pavement directly benefits residents and motorists who rely on JASA as a primary route to access schools, markets, government offices, and the Subic Bay Freeport Zone. It also included the removal of existing portland cement concrete pavement, subgrade preparation, and concrete pouring with proper curing and jointing,” Navarro explained.

She also commended the district’s construction team for completing the project on schedule and in accordance with quality standards.

Traffic management measures and alternate routes were implemented to minimize public inconvenience during construction.

Funded under the 2024 national budget, the project reflects the administration’s commitment to improving road infrastructure and public mobility nationwide. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Bataan)
