CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A high-value drug suspect yielded half-kilo of suspected shabu worth over P3.2 million during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Virgen Delas Flores, Baliwag City, Bulacan, early Sunday morning, July 20.
The suspect, identified as alias Rex, 45, a resident of Barangay Sto. Cristo also in Baliwag City, was arrested at around 8:20 a.m. by elements of the city police drug enforcement unit.
Confiscated from the suspect were five transparent plastic packs and one medium heat-sealed sachet containing suspected shabu, one plastic bag bearing foreign text and labeled “Freeze-dried Durian,” five P1,000 bills used as buy-bust money, and one P1,000 bill marked as recovered from the suspect.
The seized drugs weighed 475.5 grams and carried a total standard drug price of over P3.2 million.
Police Regional Office 3 director BGen. Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. commended the policemen for their quick and decisive response, highlighting that the fight against illegal drugs remains a top priority for the police force.
“This successful operation underscores our unwavering commitment to cleanse our communities of illegal drugs. We will persistently strengthen our efforts to hunt down drug traffickers and ensure they are held accountable. Hindi kami hihinto hangga’t hindi nagiging ligtas at malinis sa ilegal na droga ang mga lansangan ng Gitnang Luzon,” he said.
The arrested suspect and the recovered evidence are now under the custody of Baliwag CPS for proper documentation and filing of appropriate charges in violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). Punto News Team/PRO-3
