TARLAC CITY (PIA) — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in partnership with Tarlac State University (TSU), conducted a seminar on succession planning for 20 members of the Macaguing Primary Multipurpose Cooperative.
Carried out under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), the activity aimed to equip the cooperative with the knowledge and tools needed to develop a succession plan, ensuring a smooth leadership transition and minimizing operational disruptions.

During the seminar, TSU College of Business and Accountancy Assistant Professor Hazel Mabborang served as the resource speaker.
She defined succession planning, discussed the key roles of cooperative leaders, and guided participants in creating a succession plan tailored to their group’s needs.
DTI Trade-Industry Development Specialist Krizia Dela Cruz expressed her optimism for the cooperative’s continued development.
“May this learning session be a guide for the cooperative in transitioning leadership roles. The cooperative has made significant progress over the years. We wish to see even greater success in the coming years,” she stated.
Seeing the emergence of future leaders within their group, participant Mely Nicolas emphasized her confidence in the cooperative’s continued growth.
“I am very happy that we are now seeing a new generation of leaders in our cooperative. This activity is a big step for us, Macaguing [Primary Multipurpose Cooperative], towards greater success,” she said.
Following the learning session, the facilitators will revisit the group to evaluate the succession plan developed by the members and ensure its strategic alignment with the cooperative’s long-term goals. (CLJD/MAECR, PIA Region 3-Tarlac)
