IBA, Zambales (PIA) — About 20 leaders, officers and active members of agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations (ARBOs) in Zambales attended the leadership and organizational development training conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
The capacity building activity, under the agency’s Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), was designed to help CARPreneurs develop a clear sense of purpose by guiding them to define realistic, measurable, and organization-aligned goals that will drive effective decision-making and strategic actions.
DTI Zambales Provincial Director Enrique Tacbad said the training equipped participants with the mindset and skills to lead by example and inspire others, fostering a culture of engagement, teamwork, and a shared vision within their ARBOs.
“The sessions aimed to strengthen internal accountability and enhance performance monitoring, empowering members to take ownership of their roles and actively contribute to their organization’s success,” he added.
The training also promoted a culture of collaboration and proactive leadership among members, encouraging problem-solving and more inclusive participation in organizational affairs.
Tacbad highlighted that the initiative is part of DTI Zambales’ broader commitment to inclusive growth and rural development.
“By strengthening the backbone of community-based enterprises, the program contributes to food security, job creation, and poverty alleviation. This reflects the government’s support for agrarian reform beneficiaries—not only by providing resources but also by building their capacity to lead, manage, and thrive in their own economic ventures,” he pressed.
DTI Zambales reaffirmed its dedication to supporting CARPreneurs through continuous capability-building programs, helping them become more resilient and sustainable contributors to the province’s economic development.
As agrarian entrepreneurs adapt to a more competitive environment, enhancing leadership and organizational development becomes critical to empowering them as key partners in driving inclusive economic growth in the province. (CLJD/RGP, PIA Region 3-Zambales)
