IBA, Zambales (PIA) — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) awarded the Balangay Seal of Excellence to the municipality of Masinloc in recognition of its effective and sustained implementation of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP).

Masinloc is the first town in the province of Zambales to have all barangays declared drug-cleared and to maintain that status.

PDEA Zambales Provincial Chief Jigger Juniller said this is a significant milestone that highlights the local government’s strong and consistent anti-drug efforts through the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council.

“It is my pride and honor to congratulate the municipality of Masinloc for being conferred with the Balangay Seal of Excellence. This award is the highest recognition setforth by PDEA to implementers of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program through the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council with the utmost acknowledgement of their unwavering commitment and dedication in the anti-illegal drug campaign,” he added.

The BDCP is a multi-agency initiative of PDEA, Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the Philippine National Police.

It involves several stages such as validation, monitoring, and post-clearance support to ensure the sustainability of drug-cleared status and the promotion of safer, healthier communities. (CLJD/RGP, PIA Region 3-Zambales)
