DTI holds Diskwento Caravan in Bataan

BALANGA City, Bataan: The Department of Trade and Industry held a three-day “Balik Eskwela Diskwento Caravan” that offers 10 percent discount on products for sale at the Plaza Mayor de Balanga here starting Wednesday, May 14.

Gerry Santos, DTI Bataan Consumer Protection Division chief, said the caravan will last until May 16 with 67 exhibitors from the province to around central Luzon like from Bulacan and Nueva Ecija and even the National Capital Region.

He said that shoe makers of Marikina and small and medium enterprises from Bataan have joined the fair. “Ang maasahan ng ating mga maimiling Bataeño ay lahat ng ibinebenta dito ay meron na agad 10% discount.”
“Pangalawa, lahat ay dekalidad dahil gawa ito ng Bataan lalo na ang sapatos ng Marikina at ibang probinsiya within Region 3 na ina-assist din ng DTI provincial offices ng Central Luzon,” Santos said.

Among the products for sale are buko pie, bagoong, crab paste, mushroom chips, vinegar, banana chips, coco jam, sweet peanuts, bukayo, araro with different flavors, cookie balls, butter cookies, garlic chips, cashew polvoron, sweet potato chips, pickled papaya, mixed nuts, cashew butter, camote chips, honey.

Also offered for sale are smoked fish, turmeric, fish sauce, vegetables and fruits like talong, kamatis, patola, papaya, sili, mangoes, apple, pineapples, pakwan, sampaloc, ampalaya, kalabasa, kamote, puso ng saging, ubas, okra and bananas.

Bags, clothes, shoes, notebooks, papers, ballpens and pencils are also available. Even bedsheets and plants are for sale.
