BALER, Aurora (PIA) — The newly completed Tanawan Access Road in Barangay Tanawan, Dingalan is expected to bring significant benefits to local tourism and economic development by improving access to one of Aurora’s top natural attractions.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) constructed the access road as part of its Tourism Road Infrastructure Program, aiming to enhance visitor experience and support livelihood opportunities in the area.

DPWH Aurora District Engineer Roderick Andal said the project, implemented in two phases, now makes travel to Tanawan Falls safer, faster, and more inclusive.

“The access road spans a total of 0.412 kilometers, with Phase I covering 0.068 kilometers and Phase II extending an additional 0.344 kilometers. The project was completed at a total cost of P28.24 million,” he said.

Andal added that the improved road not only benefits tourists but also uplifts local communities by enhancing access to essential services, generating jobs, and boosting small businesses.

“This road not only opens Tanawan Falls to residents and tourists but also paves the way for long-term progress and prosperity for the people of Aurora,” he noted.

The DPWH emphasized that the completion of the road reflects its continued commitment to developing infrastructure that strengthens tourism while promoting sustainable growth in rural communities. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Aurora)
