SAMAL, Bataan: The Commission on Elections on Tuesday, February 11, began removing illegal campaign materials in this province like in this town with the start of the campaign period for senatorial and party-list candidates in the May 2025 elections.
Samal municipal election officer Maribeth Abadecio led a team in the implementation of “Operation Plan Baklas” or the removal of illegally- posted campaign posters.
The group was composed of personnel from the local poll office, municipal police station under Captain Gilcerio Dizon, municipal environment and natural resources office, municipal disaster risk reduction management office and the municipal planning and development office.
The group removed campaign materials attached on electric posts, trees and in areas not designated as common poster areas.
Workers for a senatorial candidate wasted no time in installing posters in designated poster area in the plaza of Samal, saying they have sought the permission of municipal officials. Other campaign materials were seen attached on a fence of a private property. (30)
