CABANATUAN CITY — – A total of 1,927 unauthorized motorcycle exhaust pipes or mufflers were destroyed at the Nueva Ecija police headquarters parade grounds along Burgos Ave. here Thursday.
Nueva Ecija police director Col. Ferdinand Germino said the mufflers were seized in simultaneous enforcement of RA 4136 (Land Transportation and Traffic Code) and local ordinances.
The mufflers were run over by a roller truck to destroy them “beyond reuse, ensuring that they would no longer contribute to noise pollution or public disturbance.”
Germino explained the initiative was part of NEPPO’s ongoing campaign to promote road safety, environmental protection, and public order, in compliance with RA 4136.
“This initiative sends a strong message to violators and reiterates the PNP’s dedication to enforcing traffic laws and safeguarding public welfare,” he said.
