CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a P5.8-million multipurpose building in Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija.
Located in Barangay Malacañang, the structure now serves local officials and residents.
DPWH Nueva Ecija 2nd District OIC Engineer Robert Jay Panaligan stated that the 168-square-meter, two-story building features a lounge area, storage room, conference room, versatile space, session hall, two comfort rooms, and two pantries. It is also equipped with four air-conditioning units.
“This facility provides a convenient and accessible venue for public consultations, meetings, and local events, enhancing government service delivery to residents,” Panaligan said.
Meanwhile, OIC-Assistant District Engineer Leonora Cruz emphasized that the structure meets the community’s need for improved public services while ensuring privacy and security for individuals seeking assistance.
She added that officials would repurpose the existing barangay hall as a daycare center, further maximizing the project’s value.
The agency implemented the project under its Basic Infrastructure Program, allocating funds from the 2024 national budget. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Nueva Ecija)
