MARIVELES, Bataan — The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) opened their trade fair and Christmas lighting at the Freeport Area of Bataan here Saturday.
AFAB administrator and chief operating officer Hussein Pangandaman and AFAB deputy administrator for support services Malou Herrera led in the simple but colorful ceremonies at the FAB ground.
On sale are clothes, sports equipment, pillows, bedsheets, blankets, bags, shoes, among some others from both FAB enterprises and local sellers. The trade fair will be open until Dec. 16.
Also opened was the attractive Christmas display in front of the AFAB administration building.
Pangandaman said the trade fair is a tradition of FAB for the last 15 years that was temporarily stopped for two years due to the coronavirus pandemic. It was renewed when he assumed office two years ago.
“We tried to observe that tradition at para ma-showcase natin ang mga dapat i-offer ng mga locators sa mga local businessmen. Sabihin na lang natin ang pagkakaiba of course nagtransition tayo. There was a transition after the pandemic. Slowly nagbukas ang mga negosyo na sa tingin ko this year mas dadami ang mga vendors na magpaparticipate. It is 96 on paper pero kung isasama ang mga local businesses, it will be over 100,” Pangandaman said.
