GUAGUA, Pampanga – In collaboration with the Provincial Government of Pampanga, the Commission on Higher Education on Nov. 5 distributed educational financial assistance to 1.123 college student-beneficiaries from here and Sta Rita town.
Pampanga 2nd District board members Fritzie David-Dizon, Sajid Khan Eusoof, Claire Lim, and JC Cruz led the distribution and awarding of P7,500 each to students from Guagua National Colleges, Mary the Queen College, and Sta. Rita College under the CHED’s Tulong Dunong Program (TDP).
Earlier, Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda also distributed P7,500 each to 428 students from the Holy Cross College in Sta. Ana town.
Jasmin Meneses, a third-year criminology student at Holy Cross College, expressed her gratitude for the support given by the provincial and national governments.
“Ining scholarship ayni, gawan mi ya pung inspirasyun aldo-aldo. At pangaku ku pu, ikami pu na atsu pu keng arapan yu, gamitan mi ya pu ini para mayari keng pamagaral, at mangaku ke pu a pagmaragul yu kami pu king datang a aldo.”
Meneses also shared that her family depends on her parents’ income from selling “balut,” which sometimes falls short of covering her and her two siblings’ educational expenses.
“Maragul ya pung saup kekaming estudyanti ini. At maragul ke pu kapasalamatan bilang anak at bilang estudyanting mangarap mayari na asaupan mila pu reng pengari mi. Pekaimportanti na pu niti ing maging propesyunal ke pu bang makasaup kami pu kareng kekatamung cabalen keng mabilug a prubinsya,” she added.
