CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Two national awards in local finance were bestowed upon the Pampanga provincial government recognizing the excellence of Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda in revenue generation and management.
The Department of Finance’s Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) ranked Pampanga second among Top 10 provinces in Local Source Revenues (LSR) in nominal terms in 2023 for generating a total of ₱2.345 billion. The province inched up in ranking from No. 3 in 2022.
According to BLGF Memorandum Circular No. 017-2024, LSR in nominal terms consists of real property tax, business tax, regulatory fees, service/user charges, receipts from economic enterprise and others.
As in 2022, Pampanga ranked second anew for 2023 in terms of ratio of LSR to total current operating income (TCOI) at 39.65%.
TCOI consists of locally sourced income and external sources like national tax allotment and others, the BLGF said.
Pampanga has remained in BGLF’s top rankings of all Philippine provinces since 2019, records showed.
