SUBIC BAY FREEPORT – President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is expected to grace the inauguration of the $2.5 million blending plant of the Petron Fuel Additives at the Subic Techno Park, Argonaut Highway, here today.
The President will be assisted by Department of Energy Secretary Angelo Reyes, Subic-Clark Alliance Development Secretary Edgardo Pamintuan, Petron Chairman Nicasio Alcantara, Zambales Governor Amor Deloso, Bataan Governor Enrique Garcia, and other government officials, in the ribbon-cutting to formally inaugurate the new blending plant
Pres. Arroyo, together with Petron officials, will have a tour at the plant. During the tour, Alcantara and other Petron officials will give a briefing and audio-visual presentation of the facility.
The Petron Fuel Additive Blending Plant is the product of a Fuel Additives Blending Agreement signed by Petron with Innospect in 2007.
The agreement is for Petron to construct and operate the $2.5 million blending plant here that will serve the fuel additives requirements of Innospec’s customers in the Asia-Pacific Region, including Petron.
The 10-year contract guarantees that Petron will be Innospec’s exclusive toll blender in the region.
The plant will also serve as Innospec’s supply hub in the Asia-Pacific Region. It positions itself to tap the fastest growing regional market and bring its products and services close to Asian customers. Traditionally, Innospects products used in the region have been sourced from Europe.
The blending plant in Subic has a bulk capacity of 770 metric tons and a blending capacity of 50 metric tons per day.
