ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has ordered six restaurants here shut down over their failure to comply with sanitary regulations.
Lazatin directed the business permit and licensing division led by Enrico Romero, and the sanitation division of the city health office led by Alvin Dingal to step up its inspection efforts among restaurants to ensure the safety of Angeles City residents and foreign and local tourists.
Angeles City is one of the culinary destinations in Pampanga province and more visitors are coming in to sample the food among numerous restaurants in the city.
The inspection team swooped down on the kitchens of restaurants in the city to inspect them for cleanliness.
Lazatin has warned food establishments to strictly follow sanitation and cleanliness in food handling. The restaurants were also tasked to follow fire safety regulations.
