MALOLOS CITY (PIA) — About 800 job order (JO) employees of the municipal government of Bocaue in Bulacan will become self-employed members of the Social Security System (SSS).
This after the state firm signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the local government unit (LGU) for the provision of inclusive, affordable and sustainable safety net against contingencies that may result in financial challenges.
SSS Senior Vice President for Luzon Operations Group Antonio Argabioso said that through their KaSSSangga Collect Program (KCP), JO employees will have their social security upon reaching retirement age.
“As an authorized collecting partner, the Bocaue LGU will deduct the monthly Social Security and Employees’ Compensation contributions of its JO workers from their salaries and remit these to the SSS branch,” he added.
SSS will facilitate the on-site registration for all eligible JO personnel, and conduct seminars to emphasize the value of active SSS membership so they can maximize the benefits and privileges.
He also encouraged all permanent employees of the LGU to continue their SSS contributions as voluntary members, allowing their contributions to align with their preferences.
The minimum monthly contribution for self-employed members is P570. (CLJD/VFC, PIA Region 3-Bulacan)
