BALIWAG CITY — Cavite 2nd District Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla expressed hope that funding for the newly approved Centenarian Act will be included in the national budget for 2025.
The congresswoman spoke on behalf of her husband Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla at the 20th Buntal Hat Festival here on May 28. The senator is the author of RA 11982, also known as the Centenarian Act.
Revilla explained that those who have reached the ages of 80, 85, 90, and 95 after the effectivity of the new Centenarian Act on March 15, 2024 must register at their respective Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) where they are entitled to P10,000 on each birthday occasion and once they reached 100 will be given another P100,000.
She said that the budget for the amended law may be approved next year, as the Revillas with their colleagues in both in the Lower and Upper Houses are working for its inclusion in next year’s budget.
