CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Some P13.3 million was distributed to 6,650 Nanay Community Workers (NCW) in two payouts on May 16 and May 17 at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center here.
The distribution was conducted through the efforts of Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. and the Provincial Government of Pampanga.
The May 16 payout was led by Cavite Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla who represented the senator and Pampanga Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda where 3,225 NCWs received P2,000 under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Program and P2,000 worth of food packs from the provincial government.
The AICS is a program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
In her message to the beneficiaries, Congresswoman Revilla recalled how Senator Revilla was welcomed by the Kapampangans in his opening salvo in his comeback campaign.
“When we go to Pampanga it feels like home dahil damang-dama namin ang pagmamahal ng mga Kapampangan sa kanya dahil sa tulong ng mga taong malalapit sa puso namin na sina Governor Delta at Vice Gov Nanay at ang buong pamilya nila especially kay dating Pangulo Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo who stayed with us from rock bottom ng karera namin sa pulitika. Talagang ang pagmamahal namin at utang na loob namin sa kanila ay hindi mawawala,” she said.
On May 17, Agimat Partylist Rep. Bryan Revilla led the AICS payout which benefitted another 3,325 NCWs.
Based on records, aside from TUPAD and AICS, the Senator Revilla has funded one of the dialysis centers in the province to help indigent Kapampangans avail themselves of affordable dialysis sessions.
According to the Provincial Government of Pampanga, NCW is an organization of volunteer household wives formed by the younger Pineda in 2015, aimed at assisting then-Governor Lilia Nanay Pineda in the “speedy implementation of disaster, health response of the provincial government at the grassroots level.” Press release/Photos: Pampanga PIO
