CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A total of P9.55 million in livelihood assistance was distributed to 26 beneficiaries under the Department of Labor and Employment Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) at SM City Pampanga on Labor Day.
Of the beneficiaries, seven are displaced jeepney drivers who were affected by the Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) Modernization Program while 10 are parents of profiled child laborers in Pampanga. The others disadvantaged individuals who applied for the said program.
Twelve livelihood beneficiaries received a “bigasan package,” four received a “sari-sari store package,” and seven were provided materials for a rice retailing project. Other individuals were provided with “NegoKart, carinderia, and merienda” packages.
In partnership with the provincial government of Pampanga, DOLE also granted and released a “Bigasan sa Barangay” package to two group beneficiaries under DILP. These are the Lourdes Rice Retailers and Manibaug Paralaya Rice Retailers.
Materials worth P1 million were also turned over to the Angeles-San Fernando Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association for their rice retailing business. DOLE-Pampanga
