CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Pampanga provincial government and the Department of Social Welfare and Development extended financial, medical and food assistance to 1,530 Kapampangans with hearing impairments last April 24.
Leading the distribution were Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Vice Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, and DSWD Undersecretary Emmeline Aglipay-Villar in ceremonies held at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.
According to the governor, the initiative shows the commitment of the government to provide support and care to all members of the community, ensuring that “every Kapampangan, regardless of their circumstances, is embraced with compassion and assistance.”
He also thanked President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian for the assistance extended.
“Sana pu kauli yu masaya kayu pu. Kaswelu tamu pung Kapampangan atana pung karakal akakwang saup,” he told the beneficiaries.
For her part, Villar noted the role of DSWD in assisting people who are in need.
Each beneficiary received P5,000 in financial aid, with P3,000 from DSWD and P2,000 from the Capitol, along with food packs and medical check-ups.
The provincial government consistently supports over 48,000 registered persons with disabilities (PWDs) in the province providing them much needed medical and livelihood assistance.
Also present during the distribution were DSWD Region 3 director Venus Rebuldela, board members Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab, Fritzie David-Dizon, Lucky Labung, PCL president Cherry Manalo, ABC president Atty. Claire Lim, SK president JC Cruz, special assistant to the governor and PDRRM chief Angelina Blanco, acting PSWDO head Fe Manarang, and PWD Affairs officer Ann Zamora.
