CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — The 6.23-kilometer Sta Ana-Arayat Bypass Road project in Pampanga is now 70 percent complete.
It is a two-lane alternate road from Arayat-San Agustin-Sta. Ana Road to Jose Abad Santos Avenue (JASA).
Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Director Roseller Tolentino said the P235-million multi-year project was started in 2021 under the implementation of the Pampanga 1st District Engineering Office (DEO).
“Since then, Pampanga 1st DEO has already completed the opening and concrete paving works along the bypass road,” he added.
Also constructed and provided were stone masonry slope protections, sheet piling works, and wheel guards in specific locations to promote efficient and safe transportation for road users.
Farmers, fish-pen owners, and locals are already benefiting from the open and passable road sections of the Sta Ana-Arayat Bypass Road.
“An additional allocation of P30 million from the 2023 national budget has been released to the implementing office to finalize this vital road infrastructure,” Tolentino furthered.
When fully completed, the infrastructure will enable motorists to cut through the traffic-laden portions of JASA in Sta. Ana’s town proper, leading to faster travel to the nearest entry and exit point of the North Luzon Expressway in the City of San Fernando. (MJSC/CLJD-PIA 3)
