ANGELES CITY –Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan recently lauded this city’s road clearing operations group (COG) during a ceremony at the City Hall.

The group is responsible for the consistent rounds of road clearing initiatives in line with the rehabilitation and urban renewal plan envisioned by Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan.

Sidewalks and thoroughfares were surveyed and cleared of obstructions for the continuous refinement of this highly-urbanized city.

Mayor Pamintuan awarded Certificates of Commendation to the 57 members of the COG for their stern adherence to their mandate.

“The city is indeed grateful to the collaborative efforts of various agencies that makeup our very own COG,” said Mayor Pamintuan.

“Our initiatives resulted to wider sidewalks and thoroughfares for vehicles and pedestrians especially in the areas of San Nicolas Public Market, Pampang Market and the Angeles City Heritage District,” the mayor added.

The COG is composed of government employees from the Office of the City Mayor, Business Permit and Licensing Division, Angeles City Traffic Development Office (ACTDO), Public Transportation Regulatory Office, Philippine National Police and personnel from the San Nicolas Public Market.

The team is led by City Traffic Czar Dan Concepcion along with COG Supervising Inspector Jesus “Sonny” C. Quinto, Jr.

Mayor Pamintuan assured that the city government will continue to be hands on with this endeavor in order to better the city’s traffic condition and at the same time enhance the city’s urban renewal program that greatly contributed to the esteemed identity of the city’s local tourism today.
