CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – In preparation for the expected spike in power usage during the summer season, the San Fernando Electric Light and Power Company said it has been working to ensure steady power supply and stabilize electricity costs through its new power supply agreements (PSA) with two established “power giants.”
SFELAPCO senior manager Jesus Patricio Lazatin made the assurance before city executives led by Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag and officers of the of Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. during a meeting at the Heroes Hall on Feb. 27.
Lazatin, along with SFELAPCO vice president for strategic planning Rocky Bayas, presented salient features of its new PSAs with the Masinloc Power Plant, a coal-fired thermal power plant, and Aboitiz Power, a champion of solar energy.
The PSAs covering both renewable and non-renewable sources “manifests SFELAPCO’s proactive approach to address the community’s energy needs efficiently.”

Among the energy saving measures SFELAPCO promotes are the use of LED bulbs and use of efficient appliances.
In the same meeting, Caluag raised issues of “unjustified” billings and “lack of response” to customer’s complaints. In response, SFELAPCO pledged to investigate these concerns and maintain open lines of communication with the government and its consumers.
