“They provide an alternate course of action towards suspected drug users and pushers who voluntarily submitted themselves wherein they will be treated as residents not as law off enders,” PNP deputy chief for regional operations Senior Supt. Donato Bait said.
He said “the centers off er moral recovery programs and skills training for drug surrenderees” adding that 59 more are being constructed and will be completed in the coming months.
At the same time, Bait reported that the regional police has conducted 2,293 operations from July to September this year, resulting in the arrest of 1,057 users and 2,349 pushers.
“We have also confiscated 33.2 kilos of shabu, 43.6 kilos of marijuana, and 2.46 kilos of cocaine with an estimated value of P10 million. Also seized in these operations were 41 high-powered and 282 low-powered firearms,” he also said.
