84 Navy, Marine reservists graduate

    SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Eighty four Navy and Marine trainees, including four Aetas, fi nished the Special Basic Citizen Military Training (SBCMT) Class 01-16 held at Naval Station Leovigildo Gantioque, San Miguel here.

    The training is through the eff orts of Zambales Vice Governor Lt. Commander Ramon G. Lacbain ll.

    Brig. Gen. Alvin Parreño, commander of Naval Reserved Command, said the training has nothing to do with the issue in the West Philippine Sea, adding that the tension in mght have an eff ect, “but very little.”

    “Ang kahalagahan ng SBMCT ay isang paraan para maka- recruit ng maraming reservist, ito yung mga hindi nakapag- ROTC yung mga galing sa poorest sector in order to serve our country”, the general said.

    Parreño said he is confi dent that the trainees achieve the basic knowledge of SBCMT.

    Navy Lt. Commander Ramon Lacbain ll said “palalakasin natin dito sa Zambales ang Naval reservist training bago natin i-share sa buong Central Luzon”.

    Trainess will concentrate on Disaster Preparedness in Zambales.

    The next training of the SBCMT will be on October 14, 15 and 16, 2016.
