80,108 get first jab in Bataan, 6 seniors latest Covid deaths

BALANGA CITY — The provincial health office reported Saturday that 80,108 individuals in Bataan have received the first dose against the coronavirus disease while 21,747 were administered with  the second jab. 

PHO chief Dr. Rosanna Buccahan said still being vaccinated were those belonging to priority groups A1 (medical frontliners), A2 (senior citizens, and A3 (persons with comorbidities) while preparations are underway for the inoculation of essential workers or A4.

She said that vaccination sites were open in this city and in the towns of Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Orani, Samal, Abucay, Pilar, Orion, Limay, Mariveles, Bagac, and Morong. 

The Department of Health has so far delivered in Bataan 68,680 single dose vials of Coronavac, 2,420 multi-dose (10–12) vials of AstraZeneca, 5,400 single dose ampules of Gamaleya Sputnik V and 2,437 multi-dose Pfizer Biontech, Buccahan said.

President Duterte upon recommendation of the national Inter-Agency Task Force has extended until July 15 the general enhanced community quarantine status of Bataan due to the spike in Covid- 19 cases. 

Latest PHO report showed that six senior citizens added up to the list of casualties from the coronavirus disease in Bataan that brought the total number of deaths to 371. 

The new fatalities were 64-year-old male from Bagac, 73-year-old female from Dinalupihan, 71-year-old female from Mariveles, 68-year-old female from Orani, 74-year-old female from Samal, and 72-year-old male from Balanga City.  

The number of those found positive of the virus rose to 11,210 with 1,153 active cases after 135 new confirmed cases were recorded and recoveries reached 9,686 with the addition of 113 patients who newly recovered. 

The new infections were from Mariveles (24), Balanga City (22), Dinalupihan (22), Orani (19), Limay (18), Abucay (12), Bagac (6), Hermosa (4), Samal (4), Orion (2) and Pilar (2). 

Newly-recovered were from Balanga City, 18; Orani, 16; Pilar, 16; Limay, 16; Hermosa, 14; Mariveles, 14; Bagac, 7; Abucay, 5; Orion, 5; Morong, 1; and Samal, 1.
