IBA, Zambales — A man wanted for rape who went in hiding for eight years was arrested by elements of the Zambales police in Botolan town Friday evening.
Zambales police director Col. Romano Velayo Cardiño identified the suspect as Darwin Edquibal y Misola, 32, of Barangay Pamunoran, Sta Cruz town.
In a report submitted to the ZPPO, Major Ramil M. Menor, acting chief of police of Masinloc, said operatives of the town police, Botolan MPS, 1st and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, the provincial intelligence and drug enforcement units went to Barangay Panan, Botolan to serve the alias warrant of arrest against the suspect was issued by Presiding Judge Marifi P. Chua of RTC Branch 70 Iba, Zambales dated Sept. 26, 2013 with CC no. RTC -7323-I for the crime of rape with no bail recommended.
According to Menor the suspect was charged for sexual assault on a minor committed in Barangay Sto Rosario, Masinloc town on Nov. 11, 2012.
Edquibal is now locked up at the Masinloc MPS detention cell.
