BALANGA CITY — Bataan logged eight additional fatalities from the coronavirus disease increasing the total number of deaths to 525, the provincial health office reported Friday.
The new fatalities were two females aged 65 and 35, from Limay; four females aged 63, 85, 68, and 55, from Mariveles; a 64-year-old male from Orion; and a 70-year-old female from Pilar.
The Thursday report of PHO listed 14 fatalities from Covid- 19.
The number of those who tested positive of the virus rose to 14,574 with 1,991 active cases after 113 new confirmed cases were listed.
One was newly-found positive of the feared Delta variant, bringing its total number to 19.
The new confirmed cases were from Mariveles – 36, Orion – 22, Limay – 12, Balanga City – 10, Abucay – 9, Dinalupihan – 6, Hermosa – 6, Pilar – 5, Samal – 3, Morong – 2, and Orani – 2.
Those who recovered reached 12,058 with the addition of 58 new recoveries: Orion (16), Hermosa (9), Limay (8), Balanga City (7), Pilar (6), Samal (5), Mariveles (4), Abucay (2) and Orani (1).
Total recipients of the first dose were 113,788 while 101,440, with 32,169 getting the single-dose Janssen, were fully vaccinated.
The provincial inter-agency task force on Wednesday has recommended placing Bataan under the enhanced community quarantine from the modified ECQ status The national IATF has not yet given its approval.
