CABANATUAN CITY – The number of active coronavirus disease cases rose to 18 as of Jan. 1 from as low as three on Dec. 23, 2021 in this city, according to a report from the city health office on Monday.
The patients came from ten of 89 villages here, with the outskirt barangau of Pamaldan registering the highest at five active cases.
The other villages with active cases as of Saturday were Dicarma with three; Quezon District and H. Comcpcion, two each; Bantug Bulalo, Bantug Norte, Imelda, Magsaysay Sur, Mayapyap Sur, and San Juan Accfa, one each.
This city, the records showed, has so far logged 6,142 confirmed Covid-19 cases of which 5,740 have recovered and 384 died.
The latest patient is a 31-year-old woman from Barangay San Juan Accfa who has travelled somewhere in Pangasinan, the report showed.
The city government has opened its eight city health centers for people who would want to register for first dose and booster shots of anti-Covid-19 vaccines.
“Mangyari pong magtungo o mag-text sa pinakamalapit sa inyo na city health center para magpa-schedule,” said the LGU in an announcement.

“Ang booster shot po ay ibinibigay para sa mga fully vaccinated nang hindi bababa sa tatlong buwan ang nakalipas,” it added.
The LGU has set up various vaccination centers.
