CABANATUAN CITY – The Philippine Army’s 7th Infantry Division (7ID) which hosts the multi-million peso Drug Abuse Rehabilitation Center (DARC) allayed fears on security underscoring thorough study on roles of different government agencies in the program implementation.

Major Gen. Angelito de Leon, 7ID commander, said Friday that on top of its mandate to provide 10 hectares of real estate, the command is ready to perform such other functions which a memorandum of agreement would stipulate.

“Lahat po yan ay na-consider at napag-usapan ng mga policy makers natin at sa pamamagitan po ng pakikipag-ugnayan sa Department of Health at sa Department of National Defense, to include other agencies at the national level, pinag-uusaan po lahat ‘yan,” De Leon said of the issue on security.

The first building of the DARC is expected to be completed by the end of October, according to health officials.

De Leon stressed that the DOH will have full operational power over the center.

“Ang 7ID po ay handa na tumugon kung ano man ang mga pangangailangan ng DOH para maging successful po ang programang ito,” de Leon added.
