IBA, Zambales — Seven drug suspects were arrested and P102,000 worth of shabu was seized in a joint PNP-PDEA anti-drug operation in Subic town on Thursday evening.

Police identified those arrested as Robert Bañaga y Tampo, 42, of Barangay West Tapinac, Olongapo City; Allan Salandanan y Custodio, 42, Barangay Mangahan;  Jayson Tarales y Mariboj, 18, of Barangay Calapacuan; Samuel Ocena y Lisada, 45, of Barangay Calapacuan; Sarman Acosta y Miyos, 32, of Barangay Matain; Elmer Tanamal y Layog, 50, of Barangay Calapandayan;  and John Vincent Arizo y Sahi, 28, of Barangay Calapacuan – all in Subic town.

Zambales police director Col. Romano Velayo Cardiño said the composite team from the Zambales and Tarlac offices of PDEA and its seaport interdiction unit, Subic police, and CIDG-Zambales conducted the operations that led to the dismantling of a drug den, reportedly owned by Arizo on Purok 6,  Barangay Calapacuan.

Seized from the suspects were four heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about 15 grams valued at P102,000; assorted drug  paraphernalia; and the P1,000 bill that served as buy-bust money.

The suspects now face multiple charges for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

“With the constant arrest of illegal drug personalities in the area as well as the unremitting commitment of the police to stop its proliferation, illegal drug traders will have less opportunity to propagate illegal drugs here in the province of Zambales,” said Cardiño
