CITY OF SAN FERNANDO —Typhoon Labuyo totally destroyed 111 houses and partially damaged 581 more in the towns of Dipaculao, Maria Aurora, and Dinalungan in Aurora province, the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) said in a report yesterday.
Partial reports from Aurora also revealed damage to agriculture worth P696,000 for rice crops, P307,500 for vegetables, P530,000 for banana, and P2,942,250 for high valued crops, the RDRRMC also reported.
Office of Civil Defense (OCD) regional director and RDRRMC chair Josefina Timoteo also noted that a total of 2,309 families or 9,907 persons were adversely affected by Typhoon ‘Labuyo’ in Central Luzon.
“About 131 families or 646 persons in the towns of Casiguran, Dilasag, Dingalan, Dipaculao, Dinalungan, and Maria Aurora in Aurora province have remained in 18 evacuation centers,” she reported.
Timoteo also said 2,178 more families or 9,201 persons in the towns of Sta. Cruz, Palauig, Masinloc, and Candelaria in Zambales also moved to 30 evacuation centers.
She also reported that 32 barangays in Central Luzon were flooded as of the other night. These included three villages in Caranglan, Nueva Ecija; seven in Masinloc in Zambales ; six in Sta. Cruz in Zambales; 10 in Marilao, Bulacan ; and six in San Miguel, Bulacan.
Timoteo also reported that the following areas remained inaccessible to all types of vehicles as of yesterday morning: the national highway in Maria Aurora, Aurora; Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road (Cabalangan River); Baler-Casiguran Road; Pantabangan-Aurora Road; Barangay Burgos-Barangay General Luna Bridge in Carangglan, Nueva Ecija; Labi Bridge in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija; road to Barangays Santolan and Popolon in Palayan City; Olivete Road going to Laur in Nueva Ecija; Nanduran Bridge in Barangay Calaanan in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija; and Olongapo-Bugallon Road KO 226+000-267+000 in Gama, Sta. Cruz, Zambales and San Joaquin-Kadacayan Road in Maria Aurora, Aurora.
