RIZAL, Nueva Ecija (PIA) — About 65 youth leaders in Rizal, Nueva Ecija have benefited from the training on strengthening digital literacy and cybersecurity awareness.
With the theme “SK Cyber Guardians: Building Resilient Digital Communities,” the Municipality of Rizal, Nueva Ecija, in partnership with the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) Community Learning Resource Center (CLRC), equipped Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials and youth leaders with the knowledge to promote safe, responsible, and secure use of technology.
NEUST CLRC Head Ruth Ann Santos emphasized the importance of preparing the youth for both opportunities and risks in the digital world.

“SK officials and youth leaders play a crucial role in guiding their communities. Through this training, we hope they will become better advocates and protectors against online threats that may affect their fellow youth,” Santos said.
Professors Alexander Cochanco and Norman Cris Olipas of NEUST College of Information and Communications Technology served as speakers, tackling cybersecurity essentials and the significance of managing digital footprint.
Mayor Hanna Katrina Andres also recognized NEUST’s valuable contribution to advancing digital literacy and fostering strong collaboration between the academe and the local government.
