JAEN, Nueva Ecija — Six persons were arrested in an anti-illegal drugs sting in Barangay Sto. Tomas North here at about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 17.
The operation was conducted by composite team from the municipal police station and 303rd regional mobile force battalion as the national police intensified the drive against illegal drugs amid more relaxed anti-Covid-19 duties.
Major Erwin Ferry, town police chief, identified the suspects as Mark John Angelo, 18, Christopher, 34, and Marcelo, 64, all surnamed Bate, and residents of the said village; Jeffrey Macalinao, 34, and Domingo Alfaro Jr., 48, both of Barangay San Pablo; and Aldrin Dela Cruz, 29, of Barangay Magsalisi, Jaen.
They are now facing charges of violating Section 11 and 12, Article II of RA 9165.
Ferry said the suspects were caught in the act of consuming shabu and possessing different drug paraphernalia during the operation.
Police said Jeffrey Macalinao, Marcelo Bate, and Alfaro also yielded one plastic sachet of suspected shabu each.
The arrested suspects are now detained at the municipal police’s custodial facility.
