6 loose firearms surrendered; P136-K shabu seized

BALANGA CITY — The Bataan Police Provincial Office here reported the surrender on Monday and Tuesday of six loose firearms across the province through the “Revitalized Katok Operations” of the Philippine National Police.

Bataan police director Col. Palmer Tria said the loose firearms of different calibers have expired registration and were voluntarily surrendered for safekeeping purposes.

The Revitalized Katok is a nationwide operation aimed at ensuring the proper registration and accountability of firearms across the country. 

Also on Tuesday, two suspected drug peddlers were apprehended and shabu worth P136,000 was confiscated in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Wawa in Abucay, Bataan.

Tria said operatives of the drug enforcement unit of the Abucay Municipal Police Station and the Bataan Police Provincial Office conducted the operation that led to the arrest and seizure of about 20 grams of shabu. 

Charges for violation of Sections 5, 11, 13 and 14, Article II of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are being prepared against the two suspects.
