BALANGA City, Bataan: Fifty-nine couples exchanged “I do’s” in simple but meaningful free mass wedding held at the Donya Emiliana Hall here on Friday February 14, Valentine’s Day.
Balanga City Mayor Francis Garcia officiated in the wedding with some members of the Sangguniang Panglungsod, city department heads and “ninang at ninong” giving advises to the newly-weds.
“Magpasalamat tayo sa Diyos na binigyan tayo ng makakasama panghabang-buhay. I-cherish natin ito dahil ito ay legal at alagaan natin,” the mayor said before officiating in the marriage ceremony.
The grooms and brides recited marriage vows, placed rings on the finger of each other and sealed the ceremony with a kiss as the mayor declared that they were man and wife. The newly-weds afterwards shared on a cupcake and a glass of red wine.
Some couples reminisced how they met and fell in love, had children outside of wedlock and thanked the mayor and wife Raquel for holding free mass wedding in the city. (30)
