CANDABA, Pampanga – This municipality famous for its buro (fermented rice with fish/shrimp) and migratory birds’ habitat will soon have its own take of urban living.
Over the weekend, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), together with the local government unit and Pampanga 4th District Rep. Anna York Bondoc broke ground for the construction of mid-rise buildings with 5,000 condominium units in Barangay Mandasig.
The housing project is under the DHSUD’s Pambansang Pabahay sa Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4PH), a flagship program of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Mayor Rene Maglanque said the project site is in the town’s flood-free area and is walking distance to the Candaba Community Hospital, the Don Honorio Ventura State University-Candaba Campus, the municipal police station and business establishments.
Maglanque envisions the soon-to-rise community to be a scaled-down Bonifacio Global City as a one-stop-shop place for living, working, relaxing, and healing. Punto News Team/Contributed photo
