MASINLOC, Zambales– Five Vietnamese fishermen on board their fishing vessel were nabbed by a joint Task Force of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Fishing of Zambales, Philippine Navy, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
Authorities said the five were illegally fishing within the 48 nautical miles west of Zambales. Reports said the Vietnamese fishermen entered the territorial boundary of the West Philippine Sea and went on fishing with the use of 20 super lights that are usually used to attract schools of fish.
The arrested Vietnamese were turned over to the Masinloc Police Station for investigation and filling of the appropriate case in court.
