ANGELES CITY — A socialized housing project under the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program is set to break ground on Feb. 27 in Barangay Mining here.
To be led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., the event will commence the construction of a 10-building socialized housing project, featuring six-storey structures, each containing 245 residential units—totaling 2,450 housing units for qualified beneficiaries.
The project will also include 200 car parking slots, 680 motorcycle parking spaces, a village market, a village clubhouse, and a transport terminal, ensuring a self-sustaining community for its future residents.
The initiative is pursuant to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s vision to deliver one million housing units per year, prioritizing multi-story developments to maximize urban space and provide sustainable housing solutions.
A partnership with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), the city government will provide the land, while the agency will oversee implementation in collaboration with other key agencies. The city government will also manage beneficiary listing, social preparation, and socio-economic profiling to ensure an organized and fair distribution process.
Lazatin expressed his gratitude to President Marcos Jr. and DHSUD Secretary Jose Acuzar for making this project possible, emphasizing that it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Angeleños to access decent and affordable housing.
Since assuming office in 2019, Lazatin has been committed to addressing housing concerns, having awarded 1,962 certificates of lot allocation and distributed 787 land titles and deeds of donation to urban poor families through the Angeles City Human Settlement and Urban Development Office (ACHSUDO), headed by city councilor Atty. Arvin Suller.
ACHSUDO, formerly known as the Local Urban Poor and Housing Affairs Office, was first established during the administration of Lazatin’s father, former Pampanga 1st District representative and city mayor Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin. Angeles CIO
