CLARK, PAMPANGA— Some 48 workers from 35 companies around Clark Freeport Zone benefitted from the third batch of training on general labor standards.

The three-day training was conducted at the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Clark Satellite Office last July 16 to 18, 2019.

DOLE Clark OIC Jose Roberto Navata reported to Regional Director Zenaida Angara-Campita that the said training covered different industries including manufacturing, hotel, hospitals, and business process outsourcing.

Among the various concerns of the companies, proper application of labor laws, computation of monetary benefi ts, and clarification on labor-related issuances and jurisprudence were the main issues brought up by the participants.

Senior Labor and Employment Officer Diane Toldoya, one of the resource speakers, said that the training is another venue for the Department to ultimately strengthen compliance on labor laws.

“With the continuous development of new policies on labor, companies request for learning sessions to be able to streamline their human resource practices,” Toldoya added.

The training was divided into three parts— monetary benefits, leave benefits and security of tenure, and DOLE issuances.

During the closing ceremonies, participants expressed their gratitude to DOLE.

Meanwhile, RD Angara-Campita urged more companies to be proactive and follow the provisions of new and existing labor laws.

To inquire on the various labor- related issuances, interested parties may visit the nearest DOLE Field Office in their area or call DOLE Region 3’s hotline numbers.
