CLARK FREEPORT – A total of 47 barangays, mostly in the low-lying towns of Macabebe and Masantol remained flooded in the aftermath of recent monsoon rains.

In an updated report yesterday, the Pampanga Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) also reported that the Caduang Tete Bridge in Macabebe and the Dukma Bridge and the Bahay Pari Road in Candaba and the San Jose barrio road in San Simon remained impassable to all types of vehicles due to either flooding or erosion.

The report said 25 barangays in Macabebe remained inundated in fl oodwaters from one foot to 2.5 feet deep, while in Masantol, 15 barangays were still under one to two feet fl ooding.

It attributed the flooding to the rains dumped by the recent monsoons as well as high tide.

The report also noted three barangays flooded in Minalin, two in Apalit, and one each in Candaba and San Simon. Channels within the Pampanga River basin were reported way below critical level as of yesterday morning.

The PDRRMO also reported partial estimates of “damages and losses” arising from the flooding at P191.6 million throughout Pampanga.

It also said that the towns of San Luis, San Simon, Macabebe, and Masantol, all within the fourth political district of Pampanga, remained in states of calamity.
