BALANGA CITY – The provincial health office on Friday reported that 44,493 individuals in Bataan have so far been vaccinated with the first dose against the coronavirus disease while 14,941 have received the second and final jab.
Vaccination in the province started March 8, 2021.
PHO chief Dr. Rosanna Buccahan said that vaccination for the first dose is going on for priority groups A1 (medical frontliners), A2 (senior citizens) and A3 (persons with comorbidities) and the second dose for A1 and A2.
Scheduled next for vaccination, Buccahan said, are those belonging to A4 (essential workers).
Gov. Albert Garcia announced that Bagac has just opened its inoculation center, the 16th in the province.
Other vaccination sites are in Balanga City and the towns of Orion, Limay, Dinalupihan, Mariveles, Pilar, Orani, Samal, Hermosa, Abucay, and Morong.
“Inaasahan nating madaragdagan pa ang mga satellite vaccination centers sa mga susunod na araw upang mas mabilis nating mabakunahan ang mga priority groups A1, A2, A3, at ang susunod na mga essential workers,” the governor said.
Garcia noted that they wanted inoculation areas to be near the priority groups eligible for vaccination and to speed-up the attainment of herd immunity.
He said that Bataan has received from the Department of Health 45,530 single dose vials of Coronavac, 2,420 multi-dose (10 – 12) vials of AstraZeneca and 300 single dose ampules of Gamaleya Sputnik V.
“Kaagad nating ipinamamahagi ang mga bakuna sa mga vaccination centers upang mabilis din tayong padalhan ulit bilang replenishment mula sa DOH,” Garcia said.
Latest report from the PHO showed that Bataan logged 9,430 confirmed Covid- 19 cases with 1,344 active ones after registering 67 new cases.
The province also recorded two new deaths bringing the total fatalities to 307 while the number of those who recovered reached 7,779 with the addition of 77 new recoveries.
