TARLAC CITY (PIA) — A total of 43 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Tarlac learned about business ethics through a seminar organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

The activity aimed to enhance entrepreneurs’ understanding of ethical standards and their moral responsibilities in running a business.

DTI OIC-Provincial Director Florencia Balilo emphasized that ethical business practices are not limited to regulations but are anchored in values that shape the operations of a business.

“When we say business ethics, we are talking about more than just rules and regulations. We are talking about the values that guide every decision we make, from how we treat our customers to how we deal with our suppliers, employees, and competitors,” she said.

The resource speaker, Atty. Estrella Menchavez, covered various topics, including business ethics, corporate governance, consumer protection, and corporate social responsibility.

She also addressed compliance with industry policies, laws, and procedures, as well as responsibility and accountability in business practices.

As the number of MSMEs continues to grow, DTI is committed to strengthening the foundation of ethical entrepreneurship in the province. (CLJD/MAECR, PIA Region 3-Tarlac)
